Do you trust God with your body?

So - this was my devotional yesterday...........(sorry - I'm a day late)...........I laughed when I opened it because i was heading to the doctor's office!!!! I've found a new doctor that I really like - it's a long process because I have some medical issues from being pregnant (I had the HELLP syndrome during pregnancy and it really messed me up - almost died from giving birth - long story - but I'm here!!!). Anyway - I haven't really ever been the same since then - I'm always tired and fatigued and to some extend - irrational in my mood swings......totally different than before Jake where my strength is concerned because I was a marathoner - so, I was in great shape - always exercising and full of energy (I didn't say anything about the mood swings because my family will say those have always been around...LOL) .

The following link explains the HELLP syndrome much better than I can: http://www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/UVAHealth/peds_hrpregnant/hellp.cfm. Once they took Jake by emergency c-section at 27 weeks - he weighed in at 1 lb - I was rushed to ICU for 7 days where they pumped me full of medicine to keep me from seizing and whatever else happens and needless to say - it messed me up good....however, GOD IS GOOD and I am here..........

I ended up having a hysterectomy due to the fact that my hematologist told me that if I got pregnant again - my chance of survival was only 10%......not good odds....so, we opted to take care of it. Long story short - I deal with lots of hormonal issues which can't be treated with medicine because most of the medicines cause you to have BLOOD CLOTS - which I am now a high risk clotter................confused yet???

I found a new doctor to help me figure out what is going on - on the inside. We are going to the endocrinologist to do thorough blood test as it relates to my thyroid (because now I have thyroid issues from pregnancy and take medication) and then to the hematologist to see if anything has changed as it relates to my thrombophilia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrombophilia)......

I know that God is with me. I'm just tired of being tired.....you know what I mean???

SO, before I went to the doctor - I was doing my devotional and this was it:

"When Christ paid the debt to set you free, he paid for your body as well as your soul to be the place where he abides. The Lord made your body, and he wants to fill his creation with his presence. You were not created to work for God. You were created to be filled by God. He promises that death will not get the last word. For eternity, you will be given the perfect and glorified version of the body you now have: no more sickness, no more back pain or deformity, no more chemical and hormonal imbalances.

"When you trust God with your body, you commit to not using your body for immorality. This physical body is a temple, and impure acts blaspheme the price God paid to make you clean. God intends for your body to show off his glory. He wants you to use your body in ways that prove God can satisfy us above anything the world has to offer.

Applying and living I Corinthians 6: 19-20 can be a huge task for most of us. But there are just as many who can testify to the power God gives to your soul when he has control of your body. For some of us, this will mean fighting addictions. For others, it will mean a righteous determination to keep the temple pure. And most of us will hear this passage reawaken the call to pursue strength in our physical bodies so that god will be glorified."...

wow - isn't that awesome.....he is always an on-time God. I know that he is with me - he will take are of me and all these issues I'm having - one day will be NO more!!!!! That's what I'm talking about!

Be blessed.

Prayer request

Please pray for my friend Jill Jones Crow tomorrow - Wednesday, April 29th. Like me, she has a special needs child and he is starting school tomorrow - half day program. As you can imagine, Jill is having a hard time with this as he is her baby and the thought of sending her 3 year old to school is terrifying - so, I just wanted to request prayer for her. I've been there - I know exactly what she is going through as I sent Jake to the PPCD program (preschool program for children with disabilities) at the age of 3 and I know that it is going to be so hard for her tomorrow.............so, if you could spare a moment - please call her name in prayer.

love to all

The Lord takes care of his People

Psalm 16: 1-11 (New Century Version)

"Protect me, God, because I trust in you.
I said to the Lord, "You are my Lord. Every good thing I have comes from you.
As for the godly people in the world, they are the wonderful ones I enjoy.
But those who turn to idols will have much pain. I will not offer blood to those idols or even speak their names.

No, the Lord is all I need. He takes care of me.
My share in life has been pleasant; my part has been beautiful.

I praise the Lord because he advises me. Even at night, I feel his leading.
I keep the Lord before me always. Because he is close by my side, I will not be hurt.
So I rejoice and am glad. Even my body has hope, because you will not leave me in the grave. You will not let your holy one rot.
You will teach me how to live a holy life. Being with you will fill me with joy; at your right hand I will find pleasure forever."

be blessed.

Self-Control.............

ugh!!!!! Not something that I am good at in all areas of my life.....some areas - I am very controlled - where other areas are a struggle!!!!! I've been looking up scriptures on Self-Controlled and meditating on them - also praying and thanking God that "I am self-controlled"....you know, calling those things that are not as though they were....lol.......

I came across this devotion in my Devotional bible for Women....becoming and I screamed laughing because it is SOOOO me (and for those of you who know me well - you will be laughing too because you know that I relate to this immensely).......here it goes:

Are you in "the bad place"?

There are times when I make the Wicked Witch of the West look like Glenda the good Witch's twin sister. When I get in what I call the "bad place", I quickly need to get alone with the Lord, get heart-to-heart with him, and be totally honest. When anger starts to show itself in my life, I know that my frustration level has topped out. Believe me, it is ugly - wicked witch of the west ugly! Frustration is the spark that starts the fire of anger. With life's everyday needs, demands, and even failures, it can cause you to step out into the "bad place" where you sin in your anger, hurt others' feelings (oh Lord - this is SOOO me......lol) or even worse, be a spirit killer. It is humbling to have to clean up all the emotional damage caused by your own anger.

Galatians 5:22-23 says that the Spirit produces the fruit of self-control. Yes, it is a fruit, which means it doesn't just appear like magic (unless of course you are a Chia Pet). It is a seed that is planted in your heart through the Word and a discipline that is nurtured through your circumstances. This is the secret for growing your seedlings into fruit; be still and call out to God. He can't hear you if you're not talking to him. Want more tips on growing your seedlings into mature fruit? Trust God, be honest and be heart-to-heart with your Lord. Today is the day your seed of self-control is being watered!!!

OMG - after I stopped laughing because I realized this was totally me - I knew that this was right on target for me. I have been thinking on self-control for a while now.....which is the reason I'm digging for scriptures and writings on it............so I wanted to share this one too - not only for a good laugh while reading it and comparing it to me - but also to have a check in your own spirit to make sure self control is one of your fruits that are being matured.

Also, here is a prayer from the Prayers that Avail Much book (scripture prayers) that I've started praying over myself regarding my self control with my weight.............maybe it will help someone else who is struggling.

"Father, I am your child, and Jesus is Lord over my spirit, soul and body. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful; I know that full well.

Lord, thank you for declaring your plans for me - plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future. I choose to renew my mind to your plans for a healthy lifestyle. You have abounded toward me all prudence and wisdom. Therefore, I give thought to my steps. Teach me knowledge and good judgment.

My body is for the Lord. So here is what I want to do with your help, Father god. I choose to take my everyday, ordinary life, my sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking around life - and place it before you as an offering. Embracing what you do for me is the best thing I can do for you.

Christ, the Messiah, will be magnified and receive glory and praised in this body of mine and will be boldly exalted in my person. Thank you Father, in Jesus Name. Amen".

intimacy with jesus

ok - this devotion follows what I've been studying - this one is from Joyce Meyers and it really made me stop and think!!!!! Prioritizing our time......man - that's hard sometime isn't it..........it's funny how we "never" have time to spend with Jesus - but boy, we sure have time to do everything else that we need to do that day don't we.....lol........

It's kind of like people who can get up everyday of their lives for work on time and make it to their desk by 8:00 AM with no worries - but come Sunday morning for church - late, late, late......I have never understood it except that they don't necessarily put the same emphasis on church as they do their everyday life........

I am really working on having my devotional time - sometimes it is in the morning before I wake Jake up - sometimes it's in the evening after everyone is asleep - but I'm trying to do so much better. How can I not make time for him - when he is the one allowing me to continue breathing....he is the one who gave me life, he is the one who gave me the 24 hours a day to get everything done - including spending time with him..................I've really been studying this and trying to get it into my spirit that spending time with Jesus - spending intimacy time with him is soooo important in our everyday walk with him.......

Here is Joyce's words on the subject:

"We know from Luke 10:1 that Jesus appointed at least seventy people to travel ahead of him to every pace he went. We know that Jesus chose twelve disciples to share a deeper level of intimacy with him, and out of the twelve there were three - Peter, James and John - who were taken by Jesus into situations that none of the others shared (see Matthew 17:1,2) But of these three, who was closest to Jesus? Only John felt comfortable enough to rest his head on Jesus' chest (an act of intimacy) as he listened to the Lord talk at the Passover Feast (see John 13:23). When Jesus was dying on the Cross, he told John to take care of his mother. He knew that John loved him enough to do whatever he asked of him.

Jesus had seventy acquaintances, twelve disciples, three close friends and one who loved him even more deeply than all the other. Jesus loved them all and they all loved Jesus, but there were few willing to make the same level of commitment as those who entered into a more intimate relationship with him.

Not everyone is willing to obey God and pay the price required to be close to him. Intimacy with God requires an investment of time and not everyone is willing to invest the same amount of it.

God does not ask for ALL of our time, but he does ask to be kept in first place at all times (see 1 John 5:21). Some people think the only way to be close to God is to do nothing but spiritual things. However, God designed us with a body, a soul, and a spirit; and he expects us to take care of each area of our being. If we keep God first, then everything we do can be spiritual. Even something like cooking breakfast can be an act of worship if we do it unto the Lord and for his glory.

However, the main issue of intimacy with God involved how we PRIORITIZE our time.

We may say we do not have time to seek God, but we take time to do the things that are the most important to us. "I am busy" can be an excuse. We all have to fight distractions every day to protect our time to seek God. he is the most important requirement in our lives, so why does he not have that place of importance in our time? Perhaps it is because when we start making a spiritual investment, we want instant gratification. But to seek God means to continue craving, pursuing and going after him.

We will not experience instant gratification when we seek God. We must sow before we reap: we must invest before we get a return. In other words, we must lose before we gain; we must give up time before we can experience intimacy with God." This is my FAVORITE part of the whole devotional - it spoke volumes to me......why should we expect instant gratification when we haven't spent anytime with him......wow...very powerful!

I have so used the term "I am too busy" today - I'll catch up tomorrow - and tomorrow turns into a couple of days before I realize that I have put him on a back burner and that is not how God wants our relationship to be. I want to wake up with him on my mind and go to bed with him on my mind. Wake up acknowledging that "This is the day that the Lord hath made"......and I'm going to spend time with him during this day!!!!

Love to all - be blessed and find your "intimacy" time with Jesus.....what a great reward when that is accomplished.

Devotion by Gloria Copeland

Today I was reading my faith to faith book - it's a great Daily guide to Victory and her one today was called "Oppose the Devil". I'll share her words and then my thoughts.....

"submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you". James 4:7

"If you've been crying and asking God to run the devil out of your life, STOP! The Bible says you're the one who's suppose to overcome the devil.

How? By resisting him. By rebelling against him when he tells you to do something and doing what God says instead! When Satan tells you some lie, contradict him with the Word of God. Oppose him. This verse says when you do that, he'll flee from you. He'll "run as in terror".

That means everywhere you go, as you walk in faith and oppose the devil, darkness is pushed back.

So start pushing back that darkness. You can do it. The life of God is within you. Jesus himself is living inside you. Everywhere you go, he goes. Every problem that rises up against you, every evil spirit that tries to influence your life, is coming up against God when he comes up against you.

All you need to do is become conscious of that. Begin now living your life moment by moment, knowing that the light of God is in you. The Word of God is in you. The Spirit of god is in you!

Live knowing that Jesus, the Son of God, is in you!!! Then watch the devil run!!!!!"

wow - isn't that amazing!! If we can get this into our spirits and remember that WE are the ones who have the power to kick the devil in the behind! We are the ones who were created in his (God's) image - we are the one's that he calls his children.....don't you know that is what makes the devil so spitting mad!!! We have the power to come up against him and to know, without a shadow of a doubt, that he has to flee.......

The enemy is sneaky - he will try all kinds of things to knock us down, make us think that we are bad, that no one loves us, that we are all just hanging on to a thread - but, we've got the power of Jesus in us - we have the mind of Christ. One thing that I have started doing when things pop into my mind that shouldn't (like a negative comment about someone or I start obsessing over something that I have no control over or someone did something to me and I let my mind start to ream them out LOL) I repeat the verse over and over in my head that "i have the mind of Christ" and then, I start saying it out loud so that I can hear it and get in into my spirit.

There was an old saying at the church that I use to go to that has stuck in my head all these years and it is this..."if I can get it in my spirit, I can hold it in my hands"......that is so true - if we can get it into our spirits and start believing that when we speak the word over our self and over our situations.......wow - we would be amazed - wouldn't we!

So, get out of the pit - start kicking some major "devil" butt and start walking in faith knowing that God is in control!

Love to all

being with God

continuing the devotion "Intimacy with God" - this is coming once again from the Devotional bible for women called "becoming"...............

"I have often wondered what it would be like to be 100 percent steady in spending time loving the Lord. It seems that in this freeway-fast lifestyle of microwaves and airplanes, there's not much that points to simply being with him.

Each day is a choice, an investment. There have been days that I've given God much of my heart; other days, it's been pennies' worth. This sheepish soul of mine is learning that it is not in the doing with (or for) Christ so much as it is in the being with Christ that matters most to him. If you are like me, you never pray harder or listen more for God's voice than when you are broken. Tough situations often bring us to our knees. But what about when life is ironed out a bit?

God offers steady love in a chaotic world. Cars crash, people fall in love, children grow up, gas prices increase - so much of the life changes about us, but not the Father. And, while a daily quiet time with Christ is important, God wants so much more than a simple "check-marks-the-spot" quiet time. Whether it's quick prayers throughout the day, a verse read before going to bed or a great coffee conversation with a friend about what Heaven is teaching you in this life, you have spent time conversing with Jesus.

In the midst of all the chaos, know that looking up is the best choice when you need a moment of quiet. God speaks in the mundane tasks of life as well as in the vibrant mountaintop experiences. Jesus wants to be with you (and me) today.

Think about it: What are the pressures that keep you from time with Jesus? Think about the times you've been "doing" more than "being" with Christ. what steps can you take to enlarge the "being" side of that relationship?

Scriptures to read: Isaiah 40:29-31 (God's strength for us). 1 Timothy 6:11-16 (proactive living) and Esther 4:12-14 (purpose).

be blessed today.

Loved

This was part of my devotion today - out of the devotional bible for Women - becoming.......................

"The apostle John emphasized his close connection with the Messiah throughout his Gospel account. He even referred to himself as "the follower Jesus loved", not once or twice - but five times!! You could think that his language was a bit braggadocios, that they way he described himself was akin to arrogance. Can't you just picture the other followers listening to him and exchanging sideways glances that echoed loudly their "oh brother, here he goes again!" sentiments.

But then, there is one little, seemingly insignificant verse that clarified John's confidence: "Peter turned and saw that the follower Jesus loved was walking behind them (this was the follower who had leaned against Jesus at the supper and had said "Lord, who will turn against you?) (John 21:20)

John wrote this book at the end of his life, probably about fifty years after this event we often refer to as the "Last Supper" (John 13:23). Much had happened since that symbolic meal. John had experienced Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection (John 19-21). He'd been awestruck when a tornado-like wind blew through a Pentecostal Party and turned out to be the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4). He'd watched a middle-aged crippled man do cartwheels after being healed through the power of Jesus' name (Acts 3:1-10). He'd also been mocked, jailed, and beaten for the sake of his Savior.

Half a century crammed full of activity had passed since John literally leaned against the lamb of God.....but he never forgot the embrace. He'd been held by the very God who holds the moon and stars in his mighty hand, and the intimacy of that moment lingered in his mind and heart for the rest of his life. It seared his soul with a sense of belonging. It literally shaped the way this sensitive follower defined himself. John wasn't arrogant, he was simply secure in the fact that Jesus loved him..................

Think about this:
When was the last time you metaphorically leaned on Jesus?
How does being adored by Jesus affect the way you define yourself?

Love, love, love this!!!

be blessed

Listen

Ok - I can't believe it's already been a week since I've posted....where does the time go????? I mean - it seems like it was only a couple of days ago - not a week........wow......

This blog isn't really about me or Jake per se - its mostly about what I've been feeling and studying in the word. Our ladies ministry on Saturday was about Listening to the voice of God. It was an amazing service. Even though it was pouring rain on the outside - it was awesome inside the house of God!

Sometimes it is so hard to step out of our flesh and just be quiet before the lord - we allow our busy lives to consume us and we offer up these quick prayers - like - "thank you god for my home, my family, our blessings...you are such a good God - thank you for your protection". They are good prayers - nothing wrong with them - but sometimes, they are repetitious and are said without any real meaning......I'm guilty of the same thing - I sometimes find myself in such a hurry - that I don't take the time to really sit and thank God for all he has done for me.......

Learning to sit in quiet sometimes is uncomfortable - it takes some of us out of our box and makes us focus on something other than our self - but, it's in those quiet moments that we can begin to hear the voice of God speaking to our hearts. I love to put on "soaking" music (all that is - is music that is worshipful - like Kari Jobe) and just be still before the lord - or read my bible - just spend time focusing on him - not all the things that I have going on in the world.

Some of the scriptures that I found while I was studying for our Saturday meeting were the following:

Psalms 141:2 "May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice"

Psalms 91: 14-16 " Because he loves me - says the Lord - I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation"

2 Corinthians 4: 17-19: For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal".

Those are just a few that I have been studying.............

The words to Kari Jobe's song - the More I seek you are so powerful:

The more I seek you
The more I find you
The more I find you
The more I love you
I want to sit at your feet
drink from the cup in your hands
lay back against you and breathe
hear your heartbeat
this love is so real
it's more than I can stand
I melt in your peace - it's overwhelming......

I know I want to feel his heartbeat - I want his plan for my life. May you find peace in your quiet time with the Father.

Love to all

It's been a great Easter weekend

wow - it's been a very busy, but GREAT Easter weekend.......

Friday night - was relaxing - we actually stayed home and had family movie night. We watched the old movie - Herbie, which is about a Volkswagen that is a race car - it's very cute! Jake loved it. We have decided that every Friday night will be movie night - gives us the chance to hang out together and eat popcorn, m&m's (yes, Carla - we mix the two of them together!) and watch a kids movie......even daddy had a great time!

Saturday - we were up and at 'em. We took Jake to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt (which wasn't all that great - but we can say we went once and that is it - at least until Jake is old enough to read the signs and wants to go again!) The problem is I'm so used to stuff being organized - that when it's not - it tends to bug me :) but, I'm not willing to take on the task to organize it - so, I deal with it!!! Jake had a good time - that's all that matters - he didn't care that we stood around for 45 minutes before it started!!!!! Or that they were asking for the eggs back once the kids took the stuff out of them.....is it me - or is that weird?????

Saturday afternoon while daddy mowed the yard - Jake and I went to the mall. I had promised him a new belt and tie to wear with his suit that we had bought a month or so ago (he had told me he wanted to wear that one instead of buying a new one)....well, that lasted until we got to the store and he saw all the other suits!!!!!! So, 1 new suit, belt and tie later - we leave the store...LOL.....I couldn't resist. The best thing about it all - the suit was 40% off......so, it was a steal! He was so excited - he wanted to wear it once we got home - but that was a no go!!!

Later in the day - Nana and Pop came over and they dyed the Easter eggs..........we only did 1 dozen and thank goodness - he was OVER it after about 5 eggs......however, they had a great time and then we had Chinese food (sorry Grammy - I know you would have LOVED to been here for it - we will do again real soon with you guys....in fact, Nana said "Grammy would be yelling at us if she knew that we were eating Chinese food)......

After Jake went to bed - mommy and daddy stuffed Easter eggs with candy and money and put his basket together......then we hid the eggs and went to bed.....

1:45 AM!!!!!!! Jake comes in our room "mommy - I think I saw Easter eggs from the bunny".....I'm thinking - OH NO!!! so, in my groggy state - I tell him that I don't think the Easter Bunny has been to our house yet - so lets go get back in bed and get back to sleep so he will hurry up and come.....luckily - he bought it and went back to sleep!!! Can you even imagine if we would have had to get up and hunt eggs at 1:45 AM~!!!!!!

Sunday morning - I wake up extra early to make sure I have plenty of time to get dressed before Jake wakes up to start his day and wouldn't you know it - he wakes up early!!!! I'm in the middle of blow drying my hair and he rounds the corner all excited to hunt his eggs!!! I mean, come on!!!LOL.....many of you know that blow drying your hair at an exact time (especially if you have natural curly hair ) is so important........but, being the mom that I am - I put my blow dryer down and went to hunt eggs.......15 minutes later - I go back to finish and whew - my hair is flat as a pancake....thank goodness for gel, glue, sticky stuff and hairspray!!!! LOL.....

We had breakfast - got dressed and make it there early for my rehearsal before service. God is good!

Church was great!!! Deniese, my sister, wrote an outstanding, practical, illustrated sermon about how Jesus accepts us with all of our "baggage". It doesn't matter what we struggle with - we can come to Jesus just like we are and he loves us in spite of our issues! It was amazing! People's lives were changed. That is what Easter is really all about. Our church was packed! 1133 people - children's church was beyond packed........love, love, love it!!!

I have been talking to Jake all week about what Easter is really all about - it's so funny to watch a little child try to understand Jesus dying and raising from the dead.....he could not figure it out.......it comes with time and teaching - but, he will get it.....he knows that Jesus lives in his heart - so he was so confused when I told him that Jesus died on the cross and 3 days later - after being so stinky for three days - came out of his grave.........he asked me if he "stank" in his heart.....too cute!!!

Lunch at Nana's was delicious and the best part - I didn't have to cook it!!! LOL......We had so much food and it was so good (although I did hear that Grammy had dressing......I'm sad that I missed that!). Of course, the Easter bunny visited there too - so needless to say - Jake has more candy than he knows what to do with!

I hope that each of you had a blessed weekend. God has been so good to all of us - we are so blessed.

Love to all

Easter update coming soon

I promise.....it's been a busy weekend - and I'm off and running today - but promise an update tonight! (with pictures!)

finally........on the mend

so, we haven't been to school in two days......bless his heart.......and lets just say - my house has never been so clean of germs!!! LOL I have followed him around for two days spraying lysol everywhere.....

I guess he picked up a stomach virus at school - it's been NASTY at my house......when it's coming out both ends - you know it's a bad virus. I finally got some medicine for him - it's kind of like Imodium (sp?) for adults - but for kids.....I can tell a big difference already.

Today - he ate a half of a biscuit - first food he has had in two days......so far - we've kept it down - hopefully - he'll be able to eat more today and get his strength back......now, if we can keep everything together - we can go to school tomorrow for his Spring (Easter) party.

He is so cute when he is sick - he just wants me to hold him. I told him if he keeps getting bigger - Mommy is going to have to lay beside him - he is getting too heavy (of course, there was a time that I didn't think he was ever going to gain weight - so I'm happy to say that he is now 50 pounds - but it's heavy!!! LOL)

Be blessed today - love to all

to puke or not to puke.....literally

when you wake up and there is puke all over everything........poor Jake....I should have known something was up last night when he didn't want to eat his dinner....he took like 3 bites and that was it!

So, this morning - I awaken to the sound of little feet pattering towards me..........."mommy - my tummy hurts"......so I let him climb in the bed with me..........a few minutes later, "mommy, my tummy hurts"......so I get the tummy medicine and give him a few drops......which, of course, come right back out!!!

Afterwards - he felt great - wanted to go to school - so I let him go......no phone calls during the day - so I'm thinking cool - it must have just been something he ate..................picked him up from school, took him to Nana's house while I went to the gym.......went back to pick him up - he was asleep on their couch...ok - he NEVER does this while he is at Nana's house......I repeat NEVER!!! When he is at Nana's house - it is non-stop band playing.....so, I'm thinking ok - something is not right..........

We leave Nana's house - he's hungry - wants to eat KFC popcorn chicken and a biscuit....I'm thinking - ok - fried probably isn't the way to go - so I got a small order and a biscuit - he ate just a couple of bites of each.......we made it home - THANK GOODNESS because a short time after that - I hear splatter, splatter, splatter!!!!! GROSS........GROSS..............GROSS...............

Now, it's coming out both ends (so sorry!).......I really need a mask now.......he's crying, I'm puking (joking) trying to clean up the floor and him too....what a mess.........

maybe it's a 24 hour virus, maybe he ate something that made him sick last night, maybe it's nothing - but, I don't think I'm feeding him for another 4 days....LOL (just joking Grammy!).

School or no school tomorrow?????? I guess we'll have to see what comes out tonight.....LOL

love to all

Ok - I am SOOOOO behind on my blogging

please forgive me.....I have gotten wrapped up in day to day life and have totally slacked off....however, I promise to get better because I love to talk and share.......so, hopefully, it won't happen again.....

Let's see - what has happened since spring break? Not much exciting really - just day to day stuff. We did celebrate my nephew, Timo's, 14th birthday party. It was in Willis, Texas, out on the water.......beautiful place that Vicki and Tremayne have - the weather could have participated a little more - but over all - it was great. The kids played outside and the adults talked and laughed at all the crazy kido's. Jake had a great time -although - I thought I was going to have to tie him to my side because he wanted to follow Trent around nonstop - of course it's because Trent plays the drums -so he is super IMPORTANT to Jake.

Jake has to have ANOTHER prescription in his glasses. I blogged a while back about having to go and get new glasses because Jake broke them - well, bought those and now, 2 months later at his normal check up - she decides that he needs a stronger prescription...........ok - are you just looking for money lady??? ahahahaha. Mark said she sees a sucker when I walk in because I agree to everything -but I'm like - hey - if he needs them - he needs them............luckily this time -we have eye insurance.....this being after we spent $1000 last year on him........live and learn right?

My job is going great - still loving it. Had to make a tough call the other day - I've decided not to work at all during the summer........I think it will work best with Jake's schedule. Believe me - I tried to make it work where I could still go into the office (I know, that sounds SOOO selfish) but, it doesn't really make sense to do that. He will attend some sort of schooling during the summer- but not all day long and not every day of the week. It is for the best for me not to work - but......................

I was going to put Jake in a Mothers Day out program this summer - but I think the school is going to recommend Summer school for him......I actually think this is a better bet for him because he will continue to learn and continue to practice on the areas that he is challenged at. It is not everyday - 4 days a week and 3 hours a day...........he would get 3 weeks out of school at the beginning of the summer and then 2 weeks off in July and then 2 or 3 weeks before school starts in august - so a total of 6 weeks of Summer school (I think)......Mark is really for this - I am too - but hesitant because i want him to enjoy the summer too - however, I think he will be able to do both.

Our ARD meeting (a meeting with the school when you have a child with special needs) will be coming up in May. They have been doing his 3 year evaluation - basically to tell us where he ranks and how far behind he might be. Some of their ratings are strange - not going to get into that right now - it's just a title and I'm not sure that I want Jake to be labeled just for services.....so, we'll see. mark will definitely have to go to that meeting with me - especially if they come back with a ranking that I disagree with (like ADHD - not that there is anything wrong with that - but just because he can't focus more than 10 minutes at a time - doesn't mean he needs medication!!!). Luckily - his pediatrician will have to sign off on that because it would be a medical thing - so we are just going to wait and see - I'm not going to stress out about it now. This is only the beginning - we've got 12 years of this!!! lol

Ok - that about brings us up todate. My new favorite song is "the more I seek you" by Kari Jobe - love her!!! She is such a great praise and worship leader....wow - the presence is strong when she is singing. If you've never heard of her - youtube her - you'll see some great songs.

Love to all
Karen
