I am just now getting around to posting about church yesterday! It was above and beyond amazing.
Ok - remember in one of my recent posts - I talked about my struggle with not being balanced and not knowing what I was suppose to be doing as it relates to my work at the church. I was forever feeling pulled between my two responsibilities - one, being one of the lead praise and worship leaders and two, being the Sunday School Administrator for the Children's church.....it's very "chaotic" on Sunday mornings and I was feeling like I wasn't being very productive in either role.....SO, I'd been praying about it all week and focusing on my scripture memorization - (which now, means more to me than when I started reading it because it references our "deeds" and the rewards we get for our deeds"). My focused prayer this past week has been on finding my way and my purpose........my song this week has been "give me a revelation" by Third day.......
well, fast forward to this past Sunday - and wham! Have you ever been in a service that you were just dumbfounded at the move of the spirit - a service where you couldn't wrap your mind around what was happening because it was happening so fast!!! Well - that was New Covenant Church this past Sunday. It was AMAZING!!!! We had a gentleman there who is a true man of god - he is a man who walks among the homeless and the people who live under bridges and witnesses to them. He goes places that most of us (and I'm speaking for myself) would never even imagine going. He has such humility - it's amazing.......he knows the bible and uses it as his manuel - something that I need to get back to in a more compassionate way. He stood up at the pulpit and just began weeping - he could not even speak. The Holy Spirit was so strong on him that you couldn't help but weep. He began ministering to different people - it was beautiful!
I was on the plaform singing - minding my own business - but secretly wishing that I was among the people getting prayed for by this man.....little did I know that my time was coming!!! Church was ending - I walked up to him to thank him for coming and he hugged my neck.....well - when he did - he started praying for me and he specifically mentioned 4 times the very things that I had been praying for and asking for confirmation on!!!!!!! It was life changing!!! I mean - that is when you truly know you have been heard by God almighty. I have never seen this man before, never met this man before - but he read my life history in one prayer. He thanked God that the enemy of my youth had not been able to destroy me, he told me that I was raising up a little warrior and he spoke about my work with the children's ministry - as well as my singing. I mean - I couldn't speak - it was amazing. God is so faithful.
I laugh at myself because when I pray - I always remind god that he made me - and he knows that I always need a verbal confirmation with some things because I tend to try to figure things out on my own - and I always pray that he would send someone my way with a confirmation and lo and behold - I got one on Sunday!!!
I just wanted to share with you that the scripture "seek and you shall find" is so true! I have opened my heart, search it and pray about certain things all week and I found the answer this week.
I hope that you all have a blessed week.
Love

don't you just love it when that happens and then I wonder why I am amazed? Shouldn't I just expect HIM to operate in my life?
