I survived the weekend!!!

Oh my goodness - I am tired!!!! LOL.......I did indeed survive the weekend. Thursday was the busiest day by far because i wanted to get everything done before Friday so I wouldn't rushed trying to get Paulette from the hospital........so, I was up until midnight getting everything cleaned and laid out for the shower.........

Friday was a good day - picked up Paulette from the hospital - she is fine - had minor surgery - doing well........one funny thing about this was - that I had joked in a previous email that I was going to "dump her out" and hit the ground running - well.......the surgery ran a little late and she was about an 1.5 hour behind time - so, when I took her home- her daughter had forgotten to leave the house key and since I had to get home to get jake to the rehearsal dinner - I did have to 'drop' her out - leave her in the back yard to wait for her husband so I could get home and get jake to practice!!!!! Thank goodness her husband was close and it didn't take long for him to get there......LOL......I didn't want to leave her there -but she was insisting that she was fine and it really was a very minor surgery or I would have NEVER done that...............but it's funny that she was left sitting on a stump (literally) in her back yard waiting on her husband! Her daughter thought that she had the garage door opener with her!!!

I got home in time to bathe Jake and get him out the door.........he was so excited! They got married at a place called Ashton Gardens off 1960 - beautiful place!!!! I didn't even realize it was back there. Rehearsal went great - he did a few things that had me thinking - oh no - this isn't going to be pretty tomorrow - like, he had to practice walking up and down the isle waving at "the pretend" people, once the rehearsal started - he kept turning around asking ask me "how much longer do I have to stand here", trying to give the bible away to others to hold, trying to talk to the groom, read his bible - I thought - uh oh - here it comes - anytime he has a bible in his hand - he starts preaching! I could just see him taking off!!! Once rehearsal was over - we went to the dinner and he found a little "powder" room off the restrooms that he decided was his "office"......he had all the adults line up for a "meeting" with him............he was calling all the shots and guess what - everyone was letting him! It's amazing what a 5 year old can get us older ones to do and do willingly!!! I couldn't believe it - we were all cracking up!

After rehearsal - Jake went to Nana's to spend the night so I could host my baby shower the next morning

Up at 6:00 AM on Saturday to start preparing - got everything done - and ready to go by 10:00 - just enough time to sit down for spell before my neighbors started to arrive. The shower went off without a hitch - it was beautiful and Misty got lots of good things.

Jake got home at 2:20 pm - he had just enough time to play his drums for a short time and unwind before bathe time and "tuxedo" time. He couldn't wait to put that on!!!!! He looked so handsome and didn't even complain about his "tie" having to touch his neck.....normally - he can't have a collared shirt because he can't stand for anything to touch his neck - but he didn't mind this one - because it was a "tux"......he did absolutely phenomenal at the wedding!! When it was time for him to walk in - he decided he wasn't walking with no girl and he took off down the isle like speedy Gonzales....left her in the dust......got to his spot - stood perfectly still - turned when he was suppose to.....occasionally he would look behind him trying to locate the "band" members and make sure they were ok. When the bride and groom turned to face each other to say their vows - Jake looked at me and said "hey mom - they are going to kiss'.....we all cracked up!

At the reception - no different -he hogged the dance floor playing his air guitar and drums to all the music.........too cute! Overall - big success....both the wedding, which was beautiful, and Jake in his first one. Once Sunday was over - church, lunch and visiting with the in-laws.........I was exhausted! however, over the course of this weekend - I ate something that I must have been allergic too - because my tongue is about 2 sizes larger than it should be and has blisters all over it!!!! Very painful......maybe I was too stressed out and it caught up with me - I don't know - all I know is I'm not talking very well right now -so if you need me for any reason -your best bet is to email - otherwise - you can not understand a word I'm saying!!!! Talk about talking with a mouth full of mush!!!!!

Ok - that's it.......I've been studying I Corinthians 13 this week - the whole chapter - it's about Love - if you read in the contemporary English version - it's pretty plain spoken - which is what I need!

Oh he is too cute. I knew he would do okay. I hate your tongue is sore. Girl, if it doesn't get better soon you better go to a doctor. That is scary.
I loved the pictures from the shower, so pretty.
