What a day

whether you voted for Obama or not, you have to admit that today was amazing! I could not believe all the people that showed up to watch the swearing in of a new president. Can you imagine how those little girls must feel knowing that they are going to live in the white house for 4 years!!! What a place to grow up in...........I can't even begin to imagine what that feels like or how they are going to have to grow up fast to be able to handle all the stress that goes along with it. I'm a republican and I'm proud of it - but I'm also proud to be an American and the responsibility that goes along with that is praying for my nation and my president - regardless of who is in office. I can either choose to talk bad about him and what he represents or I can choose to pray that god's hand would be on him and on our nation and the choices that he makes for our country -if they are not good one's - that god would be the CENTER of our focus and not on man.

Ok - I'm done with that. Now, for an update on my busy week - THANK GOD our music pastor canceled choir practice on Thursday night (don't tell Mr. Robert that I'm excited!!!) :) I have been running like crazy the last two days trying to get everything done that I could since I have no free time and then, wham, I get an email that we don't have practice!!!! I'm like - oh yeah - now I can clean my house at 8:00 PM instead of 12:00 AM LOL. Yesterday, my neighbor called to see if she could watch Jake for me while I ran errands for the shower......I could have kissed her! I was able to run to target and buy some of the gift and paper goods for the shower. Today, instead of working out (ok - don't tell anyone that I missed the gym today) I took Jake to his Nana's house and went to Walmart to buy some more stuff for the party (having to do this in increments is killing me!)....now, all that is left is tomorrow - between school and church - I'm going to make the truffles and freeze the punch. Thursday after school I'm going to run to the mall and pick up the tuxedo for the wedding and then come home, make dinner - put the little one to bed and then clean the house.............Friday, I will go to the grocery store, pick up Paulette from hospital - throw her out of the car at her house (ok - not really - I'll make sure she is comfortable before I leave) jet set home, get Jake from school and get him to the rehearsal. Friday night after the rehearsal dinner - I'll make everything that I need to do prior to Saturday and then we'll go from there!!!!!

Whew - I'm tired just thinking about everything I need to do..........................

Ate pappasito's tonight with a good friend of mine, Kathryn Hier. I worked with her at Arthur Andersen - she is a great friend and it's nice to be able to see her and catch up. Mr. Jake joined us - she hadn't seen him in 3 years......and, believe it or not, he was on his best behaviour. I only had to tell him twice that the dinner table is not the drums!!! Probably gained back the 2 pounds I had lost tonight...............hate it when that happens!

scripture for today: Psalms 139: 23-24 (contemporary english version)
"Look deep into my heart, God, and find out everything I am thinking. Don't let me follow evil ways, but lead me in the way that time has proven true."

Love to all
